I can't agree with the concensus here - I ate at Simla last Saturday night and was very disappointed. I found the staff to be inattentive and unwelcoming, and I was given a table in a corridor next to a fridge and the toilet. The food was okay but nothing special, I had a Simla Exotica which was a chicken dish with a fruity sauce. There was also a garlic and corriander naan, which didn't taste as if it had ever been near any of those flavours. Portions were small and unfilling and seemed expensive for what we got. I had to jump up and down for any attention from the surly waiting staff, including when I wanted to pay! I don't eat out much and I wouldn't go there again.

ReportAnother highly recommended for Simla. I'm not a massive fan of Indian food as a general rule - and I find the British take on it, i.e. turn the heat aspect into a macho contest, a turn-off but Simla is not like that at all. The food there is spicy, sure, but its about interesting spices, not just stupidly hot ones. Also, where British Indian food can often be heavy and fatty, the meals here are light and tasty - I suspect that's how real Indian food tastes, although I don't know because I've never been there! Anyway - even if you wouldn't normally go for an Indian, try Simla and I reckon you'll be surprised.

This contemporary restaurant is a wonderful Indian curry house in Blandford forum offering a fine selection of balti dishes. Simla on West Street is an award winning Indian restaurant that is open 7 nights a week. Simla also does its fair share of charity work, supporting the ABF soldiers’ charity.

Yes, no doubt about it, this place is the best Indian restaurant in Blandford. Lovely food, traditional but with a modern twist. There is a wide range on the menu and you always find lots of groups of people booking in here because it's so good and at a sensible price.
This is my favourite Indian restaurant in Blandford. It's a modern take on Indian cuisine and the name Simla always make me laugh because it sounds simla to similar. Anyway, joking aside, it's a very good restaurant, comfortable surroundings that are a cut above the usual flock wallpaper, and very nice staff, who really know how to look after you.
Best of all, tho, is the food. Absolutely delicious, it really is, and what is even more amazing, it's very competitively priced.
Ive seen groups of people here having a really great time, plenty of food and still change from a tenner. Got to be a good thing, ain't it?
