Is Christmas getting ontop of you already ? Yes, it seems to arrive earlier and earlier each year. Some houses already are festooned with lights and the shops have had Christmas goodies in for weeks !

If the stuff didn't go up until the 12 days of Christmas start, that'd probably be a bit late, as they start on 25 December and go through until 6th Jan, Twelfth Night. I think the traders would be rightly a bit hacked off about that.

Why stressed? The small christmas trees above the shops need to go up 12 days before Christmas. It takes time to put them up. One local man with someone to hold the ladder. Once the trees are up, the lights need putting on them and gradually the festive mood and atmosphere is created. I'm glad that the trees are now in place. It is bitterly cold outside and I am looking forward to the warmth and colour they will bring when the tree lights are switched on at night. Thank you to everyone who gives their time to make our town look welcoming and festive, especially the man that climbed the ladder. I did notice you while on my lunch break.

I'm really in the mood this year. I can't wait to get into the swing of the festive season, and have even been planning my Christmas Day outfit today in New Look! (Haven't started Christmas shopping for anyone else yet, mind, so I expect it will be the usual panic come 24 December!)
