Hundreds of people are taking part in the second annual Trickey Warren Trek event being held on the Blackdown Hills over a mix of 10k, 4k, and 2k routes for both serious and fun runners.
The fund-raiser takes place on Sunday at Culmhead, a former Second World War airfield between Chard and Taunton, in Somerset.
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance charity manager Charlotte Routley said: “It is not too late for anybody who has not already entered the Trickey Warren Trek but would still like to do so.
“For those who do not want to run individually, they can sign up for the Milsted Langdon Team Challenge, which is designed for friends and work colleagues who are not part of a registered running club to join together and run.
“The Trickey Warren Trek is the biggest single fund-raising event which we organise ourselves and we are hoping to beat last year’s total of more than £10,000.
“We rely entirely on the public to support us and events like the Trickey Warren Trek help to bring in the £1.4 million a year we need to keep on saving lives, as we do not receive any Government or National Lottery funding.”
Entry forms for the Trickev Warren Trek 2010 can be downloaded from the DSAA website at www.dorsetandsomersetairambulance.org.uk, or can be obtained by emailing info@dorsetandsomersetairambulance.org.uk or calling 01823 669604.
DSAA is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and has attended more than 7,500 emergencies since its launch, saving many lives with the speed at which casualties have been taken to hospital.
