Do you think it's a good idea that all residential street lights are to be switched off after midnight in Dorset?
By switching off between midnight and 5.30am, the county council hopes to save 10% of its annual energy bill. Similar programmes have been implemented by local authorities across the UK.
The council say the scheme will not affect ctraffic routes, town centres, areas with high crime rates or others with significant highway use after midnight – the lights will remain on all night on these roads.
But it does beg the question: 'what's a traffic route?'

I am usually tucked up in bed from midnight to 5.30am so this will not affect me.

I think it'll just encourage criminals to go to the places where the lights will be turned ff at night.
