I just can't believe that dog rustlers are still operating in this day and age! I've just read about the 5 people who have been arrested after stealing a litter of 8 Springer Spaniels from a back garden near Blandford Forum! Do thieves really have nothing better to do than terrify and confuse young animals and deprive honest people of a livelihood all in the sake of making a quick buck?
OK so the owners had offered a reward of £200 per puppy or £1000 for the whole lot, so they they must be valuable to breeders, but imagine trying to offload them. Wouldn't people be suspicious if they were approached by wideboys selling unwanted dogs? Or maybe even worse - what if they were stealing to order? Maybe there's a whole dog trafficking network going on in Blandford - and beyond. Well I'm pretty sickened by the whole thing. And Dorset Police are being kept pretty busy by offences committed against dogs at the moment. Has anyone else seen that CCTV footage of the poor ginger dog dumped by callous owners in the car park in Weymouth? The poor eight-year-old sheltie terrier, tried to follow its owner after it was chucked out of a blue Mazda. I hope the police get the people that are doing this to defenceless animals. The CCTV footage is heartbreaking.

Are those little pups OK? None the worse for their ordeal I hope.

Only 2 of the puppies have been found so God knows what happened to the others. They were very hungry when reunited with their mum apparently.

I have heard a lot of thefts like this happening. The usual one is to use a child to ask you questions about your dog while you're walking it; does it come when called and things like that. Then the following week they'll be with adults in a car and call your dog when it's off the lead and drive off with it when it gets in the car. It's disgusting, it really is.

I though they caught the guy who adandoned that old dog in the carpark? Didn't I see someone on here write the name of the guy and say that he'd handed himself in or something?
I just hope they're not using the dogs the steal for dogfighting - I lived in London and they did that.... they stole the dogs and them took them to the park at 5am in the morning to fight them to the death, taking bets. Some people have no soul, they really don't. Anyway, I hope they're okay, wherever they are.

It makes me sick. Poor animals. Thank God for the RSPCA which will prosecute whenever it can. We just have to make sure we report cruelty when we see it so these heartless yobs are brought to justice.
