PRAISE FOR NEW BLANDFORD MOBILITY COMPANY 'YES 2 MOBILITY' My message concerns a small new mobility company at 1 West Street, Blandford, called Yes 2 Mobility Ltd.
The director of this business Mr Gerry Dalton deserves recognition for ethical standards that seem ever harder to find in this day and age. Nearly two years ago when Mr Dalton was trading in Yeovil, I purchased an expensive bath lift from him which came with a two year guarantee. At the time I was severely disabled with an auto immune disease and the medication was in the early stages. After a few weeks use I gradually recovered my faculties as the medication started to do its job and I was able to dispense with the help of the lift.In January this year just before the expiry of the guarantee, I experienced a flare up, but when I came to use the bath lift it failed to work, despite the batteries being fully charged. It turned out to be the hand set which of course is where all the money is. I contacted the Yeovil number but was told that the original company had ceased trading and Mr Dalton was now running Yes 2 Mobility in Blandford. I contacted him and asked if he would honour our contract which he agreed to do. At the time I had no idea he had no legal obligation to do so, but have subsequently found this out. In the event I now have a fully functioning bath lift and Mr Dalton even delivered it three quarters of the way to my home to save on my postage as we live about fifty miles from Blandford. This man puts his customers first, and I have great respect for this. I often write to complain about service but this person put his moral responsibilities before his legal opt outs and it's nice to be able to praise instead. The Blandford disabled community should know this is a good man to do business with.
