Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward

after a burglary in Blandford.

The incident, in which offenders forced

entry through a window into the Costa Coffee shop at Salisbury Street and stole

a safe, happened between 6.50pm on Thursday, 6 January and 7.30am on Friday, 7 January

2011.

Police Constable Jez Brotherton, of Blandford

police, said: “The offenders gained entry via the rear of the property and

very probably used Short's Lane behind Costa Coffee to access the location.

“A two feet by two feet dark

grey safe containing money has been taken.

“I would urge anyone who noticed any suspicious

activity around the Costa Coffee shop or along Short’s Lane during that

night to get in touch urgently.

“I would also like to speak

with anyone who has information about those responsible.”

Witnesses

and anyone with information should call Dorset

Police in confidence on 01305 or 01202 22 22 22 quoting incident number 07:71.

Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111

where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
