Some like it hot. Do you?

The Great Dorset Chilli Festival is being held at Kingston Lacy, on the Wimborne Road on the 13th and 14th of August. The weekend will feature plenty of entertainment for those of you who like to push the cullinary temperature to the maximum.

Every type of food from all over the world has been chilli'd up for the occasion; giant paellas, meixcan street food, enchiladas, wraps, curries and samosas will be on the menu as well as fare from closer to home.

The main event is the sauce competition with entries from all over the country. Attendees are invited to test all the sauces and vote for their favourite. The event also features a chilli eating competition and some entertainments for the kids.

The festival organisers have also arranged for ice cream and local beers to be available to cool down attendees as required.

Can't stand chilli. I don't actually dislike it when its mild and flavoursome but I hate the macho posturing that goes with it. Eating should be a pleasant experience, why put something in it that's just designed to cause discomfort (at both ends!) and numbs your tongue against all other flavours. It's idiocy.
