Abnormal load to disrupt traffic around Blandford Forum on Sunday 28th August

Police have issued a warning about an abnormal load on the roads around Blandford over the bank holiday weekend.

The load, bound for the Great Dorset Steam fair will consist of three steam road locomotives travelling extremely slowly (5mph) on Sunday 28th August from 7am. Disruption and delays are expected along the A354 from Salisbury towards Tarrant Hinton. Motorists are being asked to exercise patience, and preferably avoid travelling on the A354 if possible.

The steam locomotives are leaving from Horsham on Friday 26th and will travel via Chichester, Portchester, Fareham, Romsey, the A27, Whiteparish, the A36, Salisbury then along the A354 to Tarrant Hinton.
